Brightside is a read-only news app. We take your privacy seriously and collect as little data as possible.
When you react to or share a story, anonymous aggregate counts are stored (e.g. "this story received 10 heart reactions"). These counts are not linked to any individual user or device.
Brightside does not collect any personally identifiable information. We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, or any other personal data. The app does not require an account, login, or any personal details to use.
Brightside uses the following third-party services to operate:
Supabase — our backend database and storage provider. News content and anonymous reaction counts are stored here. See Supabase's privacy policy.
Google AdMob — used to show ads in the app to support Brightside. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the IDFA) and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads, and to personalize them if you allow tracking. On first launch, iOS will ask whether Brightside can track you across apps and websites. If you decline, you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalized. See Google's privacy policy.
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
